“Kathleen’s wealth of knowledge, unique teaching approach and curation of girl-produced films from around the country was crucial in the implementation of the Reel Grrls program. She collaborated on the initial design of the program in addition to serving as a guest presenter and artist. As an instructor, she inspired the young women in our program with her keynote presentation on the depicition of girls in mainstream media. She has synthesized a wealth of research and scholarship in the media criticism field and is able to convey complex ideas to both youth and adult audiences in an informative and engaging manner.
